Kathleen Hess-Kosa,CIH – President and Chief Executive Officer
In 1979, Kathleen Hess-Kosa attained a Master of Science degree from the College of Engineering, Texas A&M University.Upon graduation, she was hired as the thirteenth team member and first female in the Risk Management Industrial Hygiene Group for Firemen’s Fund Insurance.
In 1983, Ms. Hess-Kosa became a Certified Industrial Hygienist and, shortly thereafter, she proceed on to launch the consulting firm that has followed many name change ultimately settling on Omega Environmental Consulting, Inc. Since inception in 1984, Ms. Hess-Kosa has headquartered the business in the Austin/San Antonio Area of Texas, expanded her business, grown her technical expertise, and published several technical books which include: “Environmental Sampling for Unknowns,” “Indoor Air Quality: The Latest Sampling and Analytical Methods” (2nd Ed.), “Environmental Site Assessment: Phase I,” “EH&S Auditing Made Simple,” and “Building Materials: Product Emission and Combustion Health Hazards” (2017).
With 30 years of experience, Ms. Hess has been-there, done-that including a brief experience with the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Beyond her extensive industrial hygiene expertise, she has effectively performed environmental soil surveys, value engineering studies, litigation support in high profile cases, indoor air quality assessments, wildfire toxins assessments, hospital infection control and airborne drug testing, air/waste water environmental sampling, black water coliform sampling, airborne/surface pathogen monitoring, demolition oversight, thermal imaging of buildings, and more. She is a Texas Licensed Mold Consultant and Asbestos Inspector as well as a Certified Level II Thermographer.
Ms. Hess-Kosa consistently seeks new challenges and thrives on solving unique problems. She is the consummate occupational and environmental consultant.
